Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg did not end their Mercedes partnership on the best terms. We all are aware of that! Nico got the last laugh as he retired after winning the world championship. Or did he? After his retirement, Lewis won a few world championship titles.

But it seems there is still animosity between the two. Nico asked George Russell a question in his post-race interview. And the question oozes sourness.

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are still at it!

Lewis Hamilton had a pretty terrible weekend at Imola. Qualified at P13 for the sprint, finished the sprint at P14, and the race at again P13. Pretty shambolic for the seven-time world champion. And to rub salt on the wound, his teammate George Russell was ahead of him every single time!

This gave the ex-teammate Nico a chance to be cheeky as he asked Russell, “You really dominated Lewis this whole weekend. Where was the difference there? How were you able to go so much faster this weekend?”

However, Russell came to his fellow Mercedes teammate’s rescue! George took the classy route to defend Lewis in his answer. “The car’s been totally outside the window this whole race weekend. And when the car is outside the window, it’s so difficult to get a lap out of it because it’s a bit inconsistent and it’s just being able to put a lap together. So I think this weekend that’s just how it fell out!” said Russell.

When further questioned, he said, “So a case of the setup in the wrong direction for Lewis?” Russell added, “The car’s just not its true self, to be honest. When things are in a bit more stable condition, in Bahrain and even in Jeddah, you know Lewis is been massively fast and I know it’s probably a blip this weekend but I have no doubt he’s gonna come back stronger than ever.”
