Similar to most Grand Prix weekends, the qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix did not disappoint. Or did it? Well, only if you are Kevin Magnussen, it did not. For the rest of the grid? Pretty disappointing qualifying for the sprint race. Especially for Charles Leclerc, as the Ferrari man’s expression would tell you.

The qualifying session, greeted with rain, was pretty incident less until Q3. In Q3 there were predictions of rain which eventually did come but a little too late for the Leclerc. As the remaining 10 cars lined up to exit the pit lane, Leclerc was the only one on intermediate tires, with the rest on soft slicks.

Leclerc even confirmed the tire situation of the rest of the grid with the team on the radio. Regardless, the Ferrari man started the Q3 on intermediate tires and was asked to complete a timed lap. A decision he sarcastically deemed, “beautiful”.

However, soon after Leclerc pitted to reverse the decision and get on soft slicks, Mercedes’ George Russell beached his W13. The red flag incident in Q3 only became worse as the downpour began.

This meant the Monegasque couldn’t go out to better his time and had to settle for P10 for the 100km dash in Interlagos. A hugely disappointing scenario and his expressions did not lie.

Twitter catches Charles Leclerc absolutely fuming at his team

After yet another strategy mixup, Leclerc voiced his disappointment after the qualifying session. “We were expecting some rain, which never came. I will speak with the team and try and understand what we can do better in those conditions. But I’m extremely disappointed,” said Leclerc.

However, it did not require mentioning as the fans saw the Monegasque absolutely fuming in the paddock.

“Angry” would be an understatement, a theme of Leclerc’s qualifying, and one word to sum up his mood throughout the season so far.

Yet another qualifying drama and an angry Leclerc and we see another comparison to that photo of Michael Schumacher.
