Formula 1 joins the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. She was Britain’s longest-serving monarch and an inspiration for many. Tributes poured in from all around the world after learning about the sad demise of the Queen.
Now, an interesting post is making rounds on Twitter. The post conspires a cryptic connection between the Royal Family and the upcoming Italian Grand Prix.

The post points out, “Princess Diana died on 31st August before the Italian GP in 1997 (Race day 7th September). Prince Philip on 9th April before the Imola GP in 2021 (Race day 18th April). The Queen on 8th September before the Italian GP 2022 (Race day 11th September)”
It ended with the question “What’s the connection between Italian races and Royals passing away?”
Surely a strange coincidence, won’t you say?

Many Formula 1 executives as well as drivers, like George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, have released statements on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The senior of the 2 Brits has met the Queen on multiple occasions and he once described her as ‘really cool’ on The Graham Norton Show in 2015.
The time when Queen Elizabeth told off Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton was once told off by The Queen herself after the F1 superstar unknowingly broke a Royal code in Buckingham Palace. He remembered how excitement got the better of him and Her Majesty corrected him regarding Royal etiquette.
Speaking to Graham Norton, Lewis said, “I got invited to a lunch and was sitting next to The Queen.”

He continued, “I was excited and started to talk to her, but she said, pointing to my left, ‘No, you speak that way first and I’ll speak this way and then I’ll come back to you.’ She is a sweet woman and we talked about how she spends her weekends, houses and music. She is really cool.”

The British driver is currently preparing for the upcoming Italian GP in Monza. However, the Mercedes driver took out some time and hoped for the Queen to get better before her passing.
Lewis Hamilton might be looking to give Queen Elizabeth II and his British fans a fitting tribute by winning in Monza. After coming close in Zandvoort, Lewis will have extra motivation to win this weekend.
