In an old interview with Ziggo Sport, Max Verstappen was shown a video of him when he was young. In the video, we can see Verstappen nurturing his love for racing while playing a Formula 1 game on his PlayStation.

Funnily enough, a young Max Verstappen was as combative and aggressive as the Verstappen we know now.

As he goes into the gravel trap in the game, Verstappen exclaims, “Ah now he slides into the gravel!” He then goes on and shouts, “Goddamm*t!”

This angry and expletive-ridden baby Verstappen rant sent the entire studio audience and Verstappen into raptures.

In an interview with Viaplay, Ricciardo said, “In 2018, I remember the first four or five races he had crashes and quite a lot of mistakes.”

However, Ricciardo went on to explain what made him realize that Verstappen was growing into a seasoned and mature professional. “He quickly found a way to fix that and mature a lot. I think in 2018 he made the biggest transition from young boy into man, with some off-track maturity.”
