The 2023 season might still be a few months away for the fans. However, the preparations in the background are in full swing. Ferrari is the best example with the change in management and reports of the 2023 challenger pouring in. In fact, there are no signs of Ferrari slowing down in terms of preparations with fresh news coming out of Maranello—news that might potentially upset the new boss Frederic Vasseur.

After the downward spiraling events of the entire 2022 season, the Italian team had to make drastic changes. While one of the consequences resulted in Mattia Binotto’s registration, another consequence will be increased involvement from Ferrari’s top management. But it will be an interesting sight to as Ferrari looks for a quick transition over to the French boss.

What’s new for the Ferrari French boss for the 2023 season?

The French boss might not have the liberty and freedom at Scuderia that his predecessor enjoyed yet! According to the Italian outlet of Motorsport.com, Ferrari’s CEO, Benedetto Vigna will take a more active role alongside Vasseur. We are not sure what capacity will the CEO operate in and how hands-on he will be. However, there is sure to be some oversight by the CEO over the new boss.

It is likely the new boss will be irked by this recent development, especially with Vasseur’s to-the-point personality. We can expect some friction at Ferrari in case the CEO becomes too hands-on and restricts Vasseur.

This internal upheaval at Ferrari will come as an opportunity for Red Bull and Mercedes to gain a competitive edge. However, despite all the changes, one thing is for certain, the team back in Maranello is confident of their 2023 challenger. Additionally, if we are to believe Giedo Van der Garde, Ferrari can put their trust in the Frenchman.

Former driver praises the leadership qualities of Frederic Vasseur

Giedo Van der Garde drove under Vasseur’s leadership in F3 Euro Series. The Viaplay’s analyst during the preview of the Abu Dhabi GP praised his ex-boss and said he’s capable of winning championships, given Ferrari stays patient with him.

“That will take some time, but give him that time because he can become the new Jean Todt when it comes to the successes he can achieve at Ferrari,” he said.
