George Russell is one of the hottest drivers on the grid. As a prospect and now, in terms of looks as well. Recently, F1 journalist Will Buxton has been mesmerized by the Mercedes man’s eyes. This has triggered quite a reaction from the fans as well.

The Briton joked about his compatriot. He said, “Not sure if it’s just me, it probably is, but recently every time I interview George I can’t help but be transfixed by his eyelashes.” He added, “They’re extension and mascara Alex from A Clockwork Orange impressive”.

The fans have been going wild on the internet as well. Russell and his beautiful eyes have become a running joke in the community now.

Mercedes also joined in on the fun. They posted a short clip focused on the Briton’s peepers.

The journalist mostly left fans pleasantly surprised with Buxton’s admiration for the driver. In fact, fans found themselves relating to the DTS personality.

Others, however, seriously questioned the renowned journalist; even wondering if Buxton tweeted this on the wrong account.

 

Some fans mocked Russell for not making use of them on lap 1 at the Austrian GP this weekend. He crashed into Sergio Perez on the opening lap ruining the Mexican’s race.

However, while the fans carry on about Russell and his stunning eyes. The Briton is sulking in hindsight of his crash with Sergio Perez in the opening laps at Austria.

Russell finds the penalty for the crash with Sergio Perez harsh

The opening lap of the Austrian GP saw George Russell spin into Sergio Perez out at turn 4. This meant that Perez ended up with damage that forced him to retire from the race. The FIA handed Russell a 5 second time penalty for his crash with Perez.

However, Russell said, “I thought the penalty was harsh. I braked as hard as I could and I was steering as much as I could…and I knew as soon as he turned in we were going to make contact”.

Russell reiterated, “there’s nothing more I could’ve done because I was already on the limit of my car. So that was harsh.”

Although, the fairness of the penalty is debatable. It was this incident and then the penalty that Russell believes cost him a shot at the podium in Austria. However, he will be hoping to bounce back at the next race in France.
