The Red bull team has a lot going on in their garage with an upgraded RB 16. Max Verstappen in his Red Bull has been consistently splitting the silver arrows and breathing down their neck. Red Bull has been closing down their gap with Mercedes over the course of this season.
After the Eifel Grand Prix win, Hamilton was heard on the radio talking about Red Bull closing in the gap. When asked for a comment on this, Max Verstappen embraced his humorous side in an interview ahead of the Portuguese Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen said, “We could swap cars, I’ll show you how far we are”. Even though Max got the fastest lap in Nurburgring, he believes Red Bull is not close to Mercedes. He explained, “It is something, but we are not close enough”.

Need more top speed
Max Verstappen accepts that the car is better now, and little problems are being fixed. He even agrees that the car is a bit more stable now. However, he believes that there are still some areas that need to be worked upon.
Explaining further, Max said, “It’s not only the car, we also need a bit more top speed because in the race we are losing out on the straight.” He mentioned that they need to keep on working and trying to improve.
