While not everything is going in the favor of the world champions, they have decided to stay on the offensive both on and off the track. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff was called out by his colleagues for his theatrics in the team principal’s meeting in Baku. Ahead of the British GP, the boss man had a reply to his opposition.

Instead of backing down, the Austrian is ready to fight on the front foot. He mentioned he will back down in the coming meetings as well and will continue to raise the issue of porpoising.

Wolff told Kronen Zeitung that the “poison arrows,” didn’t hurt him. “They were more like foam pellets from Nerf guns. Not at all. I really enjoy the controversy. At the moment, I’m less on the balcony and a lot more on the dance floor. It’s important to get the problems under control, then I can look at what the successor looks like,” said Wolff.

But he accepted that their porpoising woes may be behind them going into the British Grand Prix.

The Austrian mentioned that they have changed their concept after realizing some harsh truths about the W13. But he hopes that both Silverstone and Paul Ricard will suit the struggling W13 more this season.

“We changed our concept because we can’t drive as low as we developed for. If we’re going in the right direction now, and I believe we are, we’ll no longer be eight-tenths down, but a lot less. At least that’s my wish.”

“It is important for us to get the bouncing under control, with or without the help of the FIA. Only fools are optimists, but Silverstone and Le Castellet suit our car better, so let’s see what the stopwatch says – because it never lies,” said the Mercedes team principal.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Silver Arrows perform at Silverstone and Paul Ricard in the upcoming races. There are huge expectations on the team as they can be contenders once again at these tracks this season.

However, it is also interesting to see that Wolff will be aggressive on the off-track issues as well. Let’s see if all this translates in terms of performance or not for the team.
