Sebastian Vettel left Formula 1 at the end of 2022. But if you ask the fans, they still cannot fathom the fact that the 4x champion will not be racing anymore. This year, the paddock has a palpable hole in it. And it is purely down to the absence of the German multiple-time champion. That being said, Vettel hasn’t completely shut his mind to the prospect of returning. Often, we’ll read a quote that leaves at least a bit of hope that he may return to the sport after all, in whatever capacity. And this time it’s Red Bull that he’s been linked to!
Many fans believed that after the sensational upturn in the fortunes and pace of his former team, Aston Martin, the 35-year-old would be eager to make a comeback. That unfortunately hasn’t materialized yet. However, it would appear that an opportunity has, in fact, presented itself to the ex-Ferrari man and it comes from none other than Red Bull, the team that gave him all his championships.

Sky Sports F1’s Ted Kravitz said, “I kind of think he will come back to Red Bull. I think he will replace Helmut Marko, that is more likely. As the sort of motorsport advisor.” As sensational as the claim is, fans aren’t too sure how they actually feel about it, though.

Reading with a grain of salt, but I would love to see this happen. First Daniel’s homecoming, now possibly Seb’s? 🥹 https://t.co/5Qw74szCV9

Obviously, the die-hard Vettel fans were ecstatic to hear this news. However, other fans on Twitter chose to be a tad bit more pragmatic. According to them, given the circumstances that Vettel retired in, it wasn’t really a realistic thing to expect him to make a comeback this soon.
Lol, why would Vettel come back almost immediately. Didn't he leave F1 to spend more time with his family, and do other things that he enjoys. https://t.co/RGKiej3Hi6

Other than this, fans weren’t too enthusiastic about the source this news came from, too.

What do you make of this? Should Sebastian Vettel return to the sport in a non-racing capacity? Or does the 4x champion still have what it takes to fight for that elusive 5th world title in the future?
