One only thinks of coming back after they leave. Sebastian Vettel revealed a possible comeback to F1 after the heartbreaks of his retirement last year. However, the four-time world champion has put down two circumstances in the way he can make a comeback to the sport. But what are these?
Sebastian Vettel retired from Formula 1 last year. The German moved from Scuderia Ferrari to Aston Martin back in 2021. During the six years with the Tifosi, the German failed to win a championship and moved teams in hopes of winning his 5th. Lawrence Stroll was hugely investing in Aston Martin, and the project seemed to be a great idea. Regardless, the investment didn’t materialize, with Aston Martin finishing 7th in constructors in 2021 and 2022. Although the investment is now showing its returns this season with Aston Martin being the 2nd quickest team. Fernando Alonso is now reaping the benefits of the seeds sown by Vettel and Aston Martin.
As soon as the AMR23 started showing signs of pace, Vettel fans took to social media to express sorrow over the fact that the German retired a year too early. Nevertheless, Sebastian Vettel hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a comeback to F1 according to a recently surfaced tweet. The German believes anything is possible for him. He may go crazy being at home rather than traveling and racing around the world and decide to drive again. But Vettel also mentions the fact that his passion and ambition can take a different turn as well bundling up into a different project.
