Pierre Gasly came home P8 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix to get his first points of the season. The French driver had lots of battles in the midfield, on his way to scoring his first points for AlphaTauri in 2022. But he mentioned he was in a lot of pain in the final laps of the race because of a stomach issue.

Gasly revealed he was in a lot of pain in the final 15 laps, as there was an issue with his intestines. There is a photo going on rounds on social media of the French driver getting himself treated in the stomach region.

One Twitter user cheekily mentioned that Pierre might be pregnant. We can see Gasly giving the finger while someone clicks his picture during his treatment.
Pierre Gasly calls the last 15 laps the toughest of his career
The AlphaTauri driver in the post-race interview mentioned that the final 15 labs were arguably the toughest of his racing career. He could have finished a lot higher if he was in better physical shape.

“It’s been the most painful last 15 laps of my entire career. I don’t know what’s happened with my intestine, but I was dying inside the car, I was screaming because of pain, and I’m just happy the race is done and we managed to secure the P8,” said Gasly.

“I’m really happy, but it was very unlucky timing with the pitstop. So we boxed, and literally, as I came out of the pit, I saw the safety car come out. So I dropped to P14 after that, and I managed to make our way back to P8. I think we can be happy,” said Pierre.

It would have been interesting to see where the French driver would have finished if he was not in pain. Nonetheless, it is a good result for the team and Gasly after their late-race retirement in Bahrain last week.
But it seems that the car may not be as competitive as the 2021 season. But there is a good chance that with some upgrades they can fight for P4 in the constructors’ championship. Let’s see if the team can fight for better results in the coming races.
