An exhilarating Azerbaijan GP has ended. The race saw a set of interesting events with multiple DNFs that will definitely alter the course of the season. However, AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly was one driver who will take home a lot of positives from the streets of Baku.

The Frenchman has had a difficult start to life under the new regulations. Gasly himself labeled his start to 2022 as “pretty unlucky”.

However, a P5 in the Azerbaijan GP could be the result that kick-starts his season. Gasly looked upbeat and enthusiastic in his post-race interview as he answered questions after his first points finish in 4 races.

Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly fly together?

Pierre Gasly has come through the ranks at Red Bull and has always been in contention for the second Red Bull seat ever since he was demoted to Alpha Tauri. However, when questioned about his future in the interview after the Baku, he decided to remain tight-lipped about his plans. He cheerily replied, “It doesn’t matter what are they talking about my future. It is always good to do a top 5.”

He was also asked about his plans for the next race in Canada, to which Gasly revealed that he would be flying out with Max Verstappen. Gasly said, “I’m flying out with Max…. It should be a more entertaining flight.”.

The interviewer then inquired whether they would pop some champagne on their way or not, to which the Frenchman replied, “We’ll see, we’ll see, we’ll keep that private.” Gasly jokingly added that “maybe he can give me a massage.”

Gasly had previously complained about how the porpoising had left his body sore and in need of some rest. A massage from a world champion could perhaps do wonders for the driver.

Now whether or not Gasly will receive the said massage, who knows? However, one thing is for certain, he will hope the carry this momentum into the next race in Canada and finally get his season underway.
