You couldn’t write the script for today’s Australian Grand Prix even if you wanted to! That being said, the Safety Cars and red flags weren’t the only things adding to the storyline of this amazing race. On home soil, Australian rookie, Oscar Piastri grabbed his first-ever Formula 1 point. It was a sight to see. What’s more? It was a race to remember for McLaren, too. With Lando Norris finishing P6, the Woking-based outfit executed well-deserved double points finish.

After McLaren’s struggles this year, it was a welcome result. And both the drivers were quick to greet and thank the fans who were in attendance to gee them up to such a result. Both Norris and Piastri, through the official McLaren Twitter handle, spoke to the fans and thanked them for the amazing run during the weekend. McLaren captioned the video, “Two papaya boys in the points. They have a message for you, McLaren fans!”
