Formula 1’s rich history has been laced with some iconic cars. That being said, even though F1 cars have always been aesthetically pleasing, the livery they’ve donned has added to their allure. This is exactly why every year fans eagerly await the 10 teams to showcase the colors they’ll be running. And this was the same back in the glory days of the sport, too. Safe to say, we’ve seen some very iconic liveries in the past. And the one team that has had, arguably, one of the most iconic livery to date, McLaren, has come back for more!

On what is their 60th anniversary, the Woking-based team have decided to launch three special liveries that will pay homage to their triple crown achievement. In this year’s running of the Indy500, McLaren will sport three retro liveries. However, the livery on their No. 6 car has caught the attention of the fans the most.

The MP-4 (Marlboro Project) series of McLaren cars was donned with the iconic “Marlboro” livery. The Tobacco giants forged a historical partnership with the team that lasted till the end of 1996. And for 107th Indy500 race, McLaren have decided to run the same livery design albeit with a white-papaya color scheme as opposed to the original white-red one. But this has just prompted the fans to make a seemingly understandable demand.

Naturally, fans want to see more of this livery where it actually belongs. Hence, the fans swarmed the comments section of McLaren’s Instagram handle to convey their request. The fans want this iconic classic livery to return to F1 again.
