Team Ferrari is going through quite a topsy-turvy ride in the current season. For the first three races, they struggled badly and failed to land a podium finish. Then, Charles Leclerc took pole positions in both qualifying sessions- the separate ones for the main and sprint races in Baku. The Monegasque went on to take podium finishes in both of those races. The Miami GP brought back the bad luck with it as Leclerc first crashed in the qualifying, then failed to make any progress from his starting position in the race. Team principal Frederic Vasseur tried to make sense of the affairs post-race, but the Tifosi is having none of it.

The main race was never going to be an easy one for the Ferrari star. In his search for the pole position, he pushed too hard on a fast curvy section. The move, however, turned out to be counterproductive as the car went out of his control and crashed into the barriers. The incident caused the session to be red-flagged and that meant that he would start the race back in P7.

Until the conclusion of the race, Haas was having a great time in Miami. Owing to the Q3 session getting abandoned after Leclerc’s crash, Kevin Magnussen secured P4 on the starting grid. However, as race progressed, the Dane kept falling down the pecking order. However, he proved to be quite the task for Leclerc to overcome. It was only when the race progressed to the final stages when the Monegasque started to make some progress down the grid.

Speaking on Ferrari’s struggles post-race, Vasseur said, “Today we were very inconsistent.”

“In some stages the pace was good, in others we were very far behind.”

“We have to understand the reasons: it’s not about tyre degradation because in the end we found our pace.”

The Tifosi, however, had none of it, as the humiliation suffered at the hands of Magnussen was too much to handle. Take a look at how Ferrari fans reacted to Fred’s comments on Twitter.

Vasseur, like always, put up a brave face for fans, pointing out the positives. However, this time his comments were not taken as well as he would have expected.
