The Brazilian GP has given the entire F1 fraternity and fanbase plenty of talking points. More than the talking points, the race has solidified everyone’s longstanding belief in the sport’s cut-throat nature. However, as attested by Lewis Hamilton, his relationship with George Russell is standing the test of competition.
Ahead of the Abu Dhabi GP, the Mercedes men took to the stage to speak to the fans. On the fans’ stage, the interviewer asked the Mercedes Brits a lot of questions. One question provoked the Mercedes world champion to disclose his relationship with his teammate to the fans.

“Our relationship has been tested, and we’ve grown closer to each other,” said the seven-time world champion. Moreover, Hamilton revealed the current season’s impact on the relationships and how he feels 2022 will have a positive effect on the upcoming season. “We’ve sharpened our tools. I feel like this year has really prepared us for even better 2023,” the Mercedes man concluded.
This is not just for the Abu Dhabi GP, Mercedes’ chief engineer Andrew Shovlin revealed the agreement between the two ahead of the Brazilian GP race.

The Mercedes men earned the team a much-needed win and 1-2 in Brazil. However, after the events of the sprint race, the two drivers decided on a hypothetical aspect of the race.
Shovlin revealed, “We’ve seen some incidents in other teams across the course of the weekend, particularly in the sprint race. Our two looked it in and said ‘we wouldn’t do that to each other’. So it’s nice to see when you’re in a position as a team when you can just let them go for it and have some fun,”
