Many blamed the FIA for the poor judgment. And on the other hand, Max, despite being the tremendous driver that he is, had his win questioned by a few. One such entity was Hollywood’s famous actor, Samuel L. Jackson.

Standing up for his favorite, Lewis Hamilton, he claimed that the Briton’s title was taken away from him. He took to his socials to display his dissatisfaction with the situation last year.

He wrote, “We shouldn’t let Lewis Hamilton fight his alone. For a full season we saw Lewis compete with Max for this title fairly and aggressively. Max is an incredible driver. He deserves all his wins this season but he did not win this championship.”

“Lewis, our brother was robbed. For 57.5 laps he dominated. Sometimes even led by 16 secs according to Red Bull’s own status cards,” he added.

As we know, Max’s car no is ‘1’, which was an honor that Verstappen had to make that choice. An honor reserved for champions. Therefore, the champion changed his number from ’33’ to the honorable ‘1’.

Referring to this big change, and the big loss at Abu Dhabi, Hamilton told Sky, “It was definitely not easy, I think. I think it’s more the big ugly number one, as big as you could put it, on the car.”

“Nah I’m kidding. I’m not really fazed by any of these things as much as some people like to think. They’ll say things, and do things hoping for a reaction, but I’m really just some chilled, I don’t really care about those things,” he concluded.
