The season of 2022 was a dramatic one for McLaren. Daniel Ricciardo had a consistent drop in performance until his last few races with the team. The Honey Badger had been struggling with the car and had publicly voiced his discomfort with the same. Many speculated about the preferences that went into building the McLaren car, which recently got debunked by his last teammate, Lando Norris.

Lando Norris consistently showed better performance compared to his former teammate, Daniel Ricciardo. This led many to believe that McLaren may have been manufacturing their cars in favor of the young Briton.

Lando recently came forward to debunk all such allegations. He himself admitted to having struggled with the McLaren car. He weighed his thoughts on the matter, stating, “It has not been designed or manufactured in one way to suit me more than Daniel. That is a fact.”

“Other than a pink button on my steering wheel, that is the only thing. I think it is the recharge, one to stay away from. That is literally it.”

Lando gave his input and pointed out the difficulties he had been facing on tracks with his team. However, he emphasized that the manufacturing was not carried out in his favor in any measure.

He joked, “If it has been, they have done a terrible job of achieving that. But in no way was it designed to help me more than Daniel.”
