There you have it folks, we have now all witnessed the moment which confirms the hype. The hype behind Oscar Piastri, the hype that took years to build over the feeder series, and the hype that made teams tussle over his signature. All the rookie needed was an opportunity to drive a competitive enough car. Despite the slow start and snub in Austria, Piastri finally got this opportunity at Silverstone and did he take this opportunity well? Well, according to his teammate Lando Norris, despite Piastri’s mega effort, he wasn’t rewarded appropriately. In fact, even Max Verstappen agreed and complimented Piastri’s driving.

The two best friends sat down in the cool-down room for the first time in the season. While going through the race highlights Norris felt necessary to point out how his McLaren teammate was robbed of a position or two because of the safety car. In fact, Norris all but confirmed Piastri’s scary talents while discussing the race with Verstappen as seen on Twitter. Despite being passed by Norris on the opening lap, it only took Verstappen a handful of laps to take the P1 spot. After Verstappen overtook his best friend, he was within the DRS range for a few laps during the race. However, it was only a matter of time before the Red Bull man pulled away and there was no looking back. However, this was an inevitable scenario given the current circumstances. The time when Verstappen ruined everything was during the British GP qualifying.

Norris put on an absolute flyer with his last flying lap in Q3. No one was getting close to the Brit to challenge his provisional pole, except one man. Verstappen was still on his flying lap after Norris registered his final time. The Dutchman did not seem to be doing great to challenge that. However, in the end, when he crossed the line, the result was the same as any other qualifying, Max Verstappen on Pole. This is exactly why, Norris during the post-qualifying interview said, “It’s always Max he ruins everything for everyone!”
