Sebastian Vettel hung up his racing helmet to spend more time with his family and to do more for the world. We tend to forget that F1 drivers aren’t solely focused on F1 and do have a life outside of the sport as well. Max Verstappen recently came out expressing his post-F1 retirement plans as he plans to nurture his $500,000 baby. Who is this baby and what are his plans?

Max Verstappen has pointed a couple of times toward his early retirement from the sport. When the FIA changed the sprint format, Verstappen threatened F1 and FIA that he will leave the sport if many changes are made. Also, Max Verstappen suggested that he does not like the PR side of racing and that he keeps telling himself that it’s only a couple more years of it.

Nevertheless, Max Verstappen is a vivid fan of Esports and is known for his sim racing which he streams online. Being a part of Team Redline, the Dutchman opened up about his future with the company. Team RedLine was started over 20 years ago, competes at the highest level of sim racing events, and is said to be worth $500,000. Verstappen explains how eventually he will shift his focus onto other things and wants to own a team that will participate in different motorsport classes.

According to Telegraaf.nl, Max Verstappen said, “This is only the beginning of everything. Of course, my main focus at the moment is Formula 1, but I also want to do other things eventually. We are already working hard on the next steps and I expect that more will come out within one or two years. Ultimately, I hope to build a great, own team that can compete in different classes in motorsport.”

Red Bull is currently on 99 wins. The Austrian team joined F1 back in the mid-2000s. Over the years many great drivers helped rack up the wins. Most notably, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. If Max Verstappen wins in Canada, not only will he be able to give Red Bull their century of wins but also he will surpass the great Ayrton Senna in the No. of Grand Prix wins

At the moment Max Verstappen is tied with Senna on 40 wins and a win in Montreal will see him overtake the Brazilian with 41 wins to his name. Nevertheless, when Max Verstappen was told about this fact, he very humbly suggested that he does not really focus on these records and that drivers from the olden era cannot be compared to the current ones as there are many more races in a calendar year nowadays.
