The past couple of years have been unlucky for Formula 1 drivers and their belongings. Thieves have targeted several of them, depriving them of their valuable possessions. Taking the top spot in this in terms of the highest monetary losses are Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris. Both drivers were robbed of their respective customized Richard Mille 67-02, with Leclerc’s edition costing around $320,000 and Norris’s edition costing around $180,000, as per various sources.
While we all know the story of Leclerc’s bravery, Norris’s story remains fairly lesser known. The McLaren driver was put in a headlock while returning to his car after watching England’s defeat at the Euros 2020 in July 2021. The guilty haven’t been found yet, but certainly, the driver has found a replacement watch as Richard Mille makes 14 special pieces of its RM67-02 series for its partner, McLaren.
Showing off his new watch, Lando Norris can be heard saying in a video, “It is RM. Don’t even ask me which one it is. But McLaren edition. I think 1 of 14. But yeah super lightweight. I wear it every day to play golf, do sports, whatever it is because it feels like it weighs 2 grams. It’s pretty simple.”

Despite being robbed of his precious item, in a video from the weekend in Miami, Lando Norris can be seen flexing this super rare piece presented to him by the team’s sponsor. Norris’s passion for timepieces knows no bounds, making him a devoted connoisseur of exquisite watches. Richard Mille crafts these remarkable RM watches exclusively for McLaren drivers, rendering them unavailable in the general market.
2023 F1 watches featuring Lando Norris
Lando Norris isn’t the only driver on the grid to be fond of watches. And Richard Mille is not the only brand to sponsor a team on the grid. Apart from Richard Mille for McLaren and Ferrari, there are several brands such as Tag Heuer for Red Bull, IWC for Mercedes, Girard-Perregaux for Aston Martin, Alpine’s Bell & Ross, and Williams’ Bremont and Rebellion Timepieces for Alfa Romeo.

With that, each brand presents different editions of their watches to the team’s drivers. According to Oracleoftime, Richard Mille specifically designed the Richard Mille RM 67-02 ‘Automatic Extra Flat’ for Lando Norris, but unfortunately, it was stolen. For Norris’ teammate, it is Richard Mille RM 67-02 Automatic Winding Extra Flat ‘Alexander Zverev’. In addition to his RM timepieces, Norris has been seen wearing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Self-Winding Chronograph “50th Anniversary” and the Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Pepsi’ as shared by DMARGE.
