Tracks limits are finally starting to irk the Formula One drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, with the Red Bull Ring seemingly raining with warnings and penalties from the stewards. It all began with Pierre Gasly, who endured a five-second time penalty for exceeding the track limits despite receiving a black-and-white flag.
While many thought the penalties would stop with the Frenchman, the stewards said otherwise, as Lando Norris and Guanyu Zhou, too, followed in the AlphaTauri driver’s footsteps. Well, the next in line is Hamilton, with the seven-time world champion barely a mishap away from his penalty.
Hamilton was shown the black-and-white flag halfway into the Austrian GP, and the response was pretty sound enough to gain the stewards’ attention. The Mercedes alleged that such warnings are absolute ‘BS’, and further pushed his team to reassess the warnings.

Lewis Hamilton goes crazy on the team radio after stewards’ warning
Seconds after hearing of the stewards’ decision, Hamilton went bonkers on the team radio, reckoning the other drivers too had been exceeding the track limits.
“That’s BS. I didn’t go wide,” he said.
His one-off race engineer replied, “Affirm. We’ll have a look, Lewis.” Soon after, a rather curious Hamilton wondered if the other drivers too had been receiving the stern treatment from the FIA.

“Are other people getting those? There’s loads of people going off,” the seven-time world champion said. Affirmation arrived from the other side of the radio that there had been an awful lot of warnings and a couple of penalties as well.
Hamilton claims back-to-back podiums at Austrian GP
Considering the crash in qualifying followed by the tangle with Gasly in the sprint, it almost looked like Hamilton might hardly be competing for the podium at Red Bull Ring. But, boy did he prove us wrong with a blinding show on Sunday.
The Briton was in top form right from lap 1, making crucial moves stick and consequently gaining positions. And ultimately, with the help of a smart Mercedes strategy and the shocking Carlos Sainz retirement, Hamilton boosted himself up into the top 3, only behind the title contenders, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen.
