Red Bull boss Christian Horner makes headlines from time to time for several reasons. Sometimes it’s handling the team’s internal affairs, and sometimes it’s just a sly verbal attack on his team’s competitors. But we rarely see his wife, Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell, in the news. And this time, Geri is in it for a rather strange reason: her ex-fiance.

Horner married Geri in 2015 after dating for a little over a year. But before Horner, the Spice Girl was engaged to Italian Fabrizio Politi, a self-proclaimed entrepreneur, best known for being briefly engaged to her in 2009. The Italian has come under the spotlight after a complaint was lodged against him in the New York Supreme Court, alleging non-payment of rent of his “historic Essex House building/hotel on Central Park South” going to nearly $40,000.

The complaint, as per the Daily Beast, reads, “In or around November 2022, Defendant Politi promised [his landlord] that he would make good on his unpaid rent, citing a purported mix-up with his banks, but he never did.” The monthly rent for Politi’s apartment is said to be $4,950.

The complaint against Politi is contradictory to the claims he makes about himself as a successful entrepreneur on his Instagram, where he has also posted old pictures of Halliwell fairly recently despite a long time of separation.

Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell started dating in February 2014 and announced their engagement in November of the same year. The couple married on May 15, 2015, at St. Mary’s Church in Woburn, Bedfordshire.

Geri reportedly received a diamond ring estimated to be worth 80,000 pounds, or $100,000. Horner also gifted a $465,000 DB5 retro-style Aston Martin car as a wedding gift. And showing his love for her wife, the Red Bull boss also got her the MGB Roadster that Geri bought in the 1990s and sold later.

The couple has been spotted several times on the grid. They also celebrated Max Verstappen’s grand Abu Dhabi win in 2021. Over the years, the two have appeared as one of the most powerful couples on the grid, becoming a force to be reckoned with.
