The future looks uncertain for outgoing McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo. After announcing his mutual split from the Woking-based outfit, he failed to land a seat to drive in F1 next year. Moreover, with mostly all the positions filled for next year, Daniel will now look to take up a reserve driver role. Mercedes and Red Bull have both been interested in securing the Australians’ services.

It looks like Daniel will make a decision about his future after the Abu Dhabi GP. In Thursday’s press conference, the Honey Badger revealed that nothing was confirmed about his future yet. However, he did mention that there was some progress being made about the same.

The Australian had a race to forget in Interlagos. He took out Friday’s pole winner Kevin Magnussen in dramatic fashion before falling prey to his own crimes. The Honey Badger will be hoping that his last race for the foreseeable future isn’t like the one in Interlagos.
