Max Verstappen won the 2021 F1 world championship in the most dramatic fashion possible, as he passed his rival, Lewis Hamilton, on the last lap of the season. The Red Bull driver richly deserved the title, as he had more wins, podiums, and pole positions than anyone this season.
Red Bull advisor Dr. Helmut Marko, in a recent interview, mentioned that Verstappen reminds him of Ayrton Senna. He stated that in a dry qualifying lap, Verstappen gets more out of the car, just like the Brazilian.

Marko points out the strengths of Max Verstappen
As reported by Soy Motor, the Austrian mentioned that the Dutch driver is quick out of the blocks and does not need to warm up. Marko also mentioned that he likes Max’s aggression on the track.
“He has many strengths, but in particular the fact that he does not need to warm up. He goes out on the track and goes fast, even in the wet or on a new circuit like Jeddah,” said Marko.
“His other quality is his aggressiveness. If there is even the slightest opportunity to overtake, he doesn’t waste it and then he has a natural speed that is just incredible.

A dry lap reminds me of Senna. He goes beyond the limits of the car. He looks a lot like Ayrton, the only one of the greats with whom I can compare him,” said the Red Bull advisor.
It is fascinating to hear the comparisons drawn between Verstappen and Senna, more so by a figure like Marko. It would be interesting to see if Max reaches the heights of the Brazilian and establishes a similar legacy in Formula One.
