Haas F1 team continued their point-scoring streak at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The American team with Kiven Magnussen behind the wheel came home to finish P9 in the race. The Danish driver certainly got lucky in the closing stages of the race, but Haas team principal Guenther Steiner mentioned it was all talent.

While there was still confusion amongst many teams if the pit lane was closed, Haas acted quickly and pitted Magnussen so that he rejoined without losing much track position.

This helped him to secure points when other teams pitted a bit later than them. Steiner mentioned it was payback for the earlier safety car in the race.

The German mentioned they were on the back foot after the first safety car restart as it completely destroyed their strategy. But while praising the team, he cheekily mentioned that it was all talent from the team to react so quickly to the late virtual safety car.

” Today to make points again for the team is fantastic. Starting 10th with a different strategy, we got unlucky with the safety car out at the most inconvenient time for our strategy,” said Steiner.

” But we got lucky a bit afterward with the few guys retiring. So, that was a good call. All talent, no luck, all talent, yeah,” said Guenther.

The Haas look competitive at every circuit that we have visited in F1 in 2022. They are arguably the fourth fastest team on the track right now, or at least in the hands of Kevin Magnussen.

They have scored more points in the past two races than they scored in the whole of 2020 and 2021 combined. The American team needs to maximize their early-season performance before the big teams can develop their car and supersede them.

But it looks like the team could finish P4 in the constructor’s championship at the end of the season. Let’s hope they continue to show their pace until the Miami Grand Prix in May. It would be a nice surprise for the American fans to cheer for their team at the race.
