Nikita Mazepin is currently recovering from Covid-19; he tested positive for the virus on the day the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was held. But it hasn’t stopped him from gifting presents to every member of the Haas F1 team.

The Russian driver, although not physically present, gave something to every member of the team to compliment them on their hard work in the 2021 season. The Haas F1 team took to social media to thank Mazepin for his kind gesture towards the team.

“Thank you @nikita_mazepin for arranging a Christmas hamper for each member of staff across all of our offices,” wrote the Haas F1 team. Although it is unclear what he gifted to the members, it is a gracious gesture from the Russian driver, who has had a tough 2021 season.

Nikita Mazepin gives his views on the gentlemen’s agreement in F1

The Russian driver could not manage to score any points in his rookie season. Other drivers also called him out for dangerous driving on the track on many occasions. But Mazepin mentioned that there is no such thing as a ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ in F1.

Nikita gave details about the talks regarding the issue with Michael Masi and the drivers. “Michael is a really nice and open guy to work with, so that was great. I wanted to see him in regard to the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ but obviously that is not something he is in charge of,” said Nikita.

“He just said to talk with the drivers. I had a talk with the drivers and I don’t think the agreement… I think everyone said it is happening anymore, so no more gentlemen, from what I understood and I think everybody is in their own world.” said Mazepin.

Well, it is interesting to hear Mazepin’s views on the gentlemen’s agreement issue. The issue has been plaguing the drivers and the sport for some time now and needs to be solved. Hopefully, it will get better in the 2022 season.
