Formula 1 was meant to return to the Netherlands last year for the first time since 1985, but the event had to be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, last month the Dutch GP organizers confirmed the race will take place this year after 36 years with a limited amount of supporters in the grandstands.
It will be an enormous boost for the hometown hero, Max Verstappen, who will drive in his backyard for the first time and one can certainly expect an electrifying atmosphere around the Zandvoort circuit by the Orange Army.
Meanwhile, the 2016 world champion, Nico Rosberg, believes Max Verstappen will be motivated by his supporters, but at the same time, the Dutchman can feel a bit of pressure from the Orange Army to win the home race.

Max Verstappen can feel a bit more pressure: Nico Rosberg
In a video uploaded from Nico Rosberg’s YouTube account, a fan asked if the supporters at the track give F1 drivers motivation to which Rosberg responded: “Of course, they give you motivation.”
“I mean Max Verstappen going to the Netherlands Grand Prix it’s going to be insane for him I mean, the fans are going to be out of control and you feel that.”
“But at the same time, it’s also sometimes can be a bit more pressure because you just want that race to win a little bit more than everywhere else.”
“But I’m sure Max Verstappen I mean, with the pressure, he knows how to deal with that, so it’s going to be phenomenal to watch the support,” added Nico Rosberg.
Lewis Hamilton is going to be booed by the Dutch supporters: Rosberg
The opening lap collision between the two title contenders, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, at Silverstone, sent the Dutchman flying to the tire barriers in an impact that measured 51 G. The Dutch fans were not pleased with the Briton’s move as they displayed their frustration by booing and jeering the seven-time world champion at Budapest and Spa.
Meanwhile, Hamilton’s former teammate Nico Rosberg believes it is going to be a difficult race for the Knight as the fans will boo him.

“That’s going to be a tough environment for lewis to race in but again I mean he’s had that before so he knows how to deal with that and he remains concentrated.”
