Met Gala, like every year, was a starry affair in 2022. Lewis Hamilton has become a regular at the event, having previously appeared in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021. One would think he would get used to being around all the celebrities at the event. Turns out, the glitz at the event always overwhelms the boy from Stevenage.

The Met Gala this year ran the theme “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”. Lewis Hamilton was in the best hands as he had the America’s Next Top Model famed Law Roach to dress him up. However, much to the disappointment of his fans, the 7-time champion did not turn up at the event.
Lewis Hamilton opens up on being overwhelmed at the Met Gala
Lewis Hamilton is quite the fashion icon himself. We often see him turn up to the paddocks dressed up in the best of outfits. Being in great shape arguably makes him look no less than a fashion model.
Lewis appeared for an interview for Gentleman’s journal in 2020, where he opened up on his experiences at the Gala. He told, “That, personally, is a very overwhelming experience for me.”
Hamilton talked about how the streets are filled with people during the event and how much time and effort goes into everyone’s looks.
“You never really know what to expect,” he continued. “Until you see Anna Wintour, and she’ll have a whole host of guests standing next to her, who greet you and welcome you. Tom Brady, Serena Williams, Jennifer Lawrence — you go along them like a line of royals.”
While the Mercedes man failed to turn up at the 2022 Met Gala, he made a statement with his wholesome gesture in 2021.
