Until now, it is a well-documented fact that Daniel Ricciardo is a big Buffalo Bills fan. He is also very good friends with their star Quarterback Josh Allen. The duo instantly hit it off when they first met during the 2019 Monaco GP. Turns out, it left the Honey Badger absolutely mesmerized by the NFL superstar then and there. He recently admitted how big of a crush he had on the man who he can now call a great friend.
Ever since their first meeting, the friendship between Josh and Daniel only kept getting stronger. In an earlier interview, Josh talked about how they both can never get serious around each other, even when they should. Daniel in that interview told that their relationship is like that of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly’s in the movie Step Brothers.

In a recent interview with ESPN, when they asked Ricciardo about how he became a Bills fan, he replied, “I met Josh Allen. I was like, man you’re beautiful. I’m not afraid to admit it, he’s my man crush but he’s also a friend now, which is really cool. And also I watch the 30 for 30, the four falls of Buffalo, which is, if you’re not a fan watching that, like, you just have to. How can you not? Kind of getting behind a team like that, with such a story, I don’t know, they’re like, the coolest underdogs that I’ve ever come across.”

Bills Mafia started the season with an absolute banger against the defending Super Bowl champions LA Rams. They had an even better next outing, playing against Tennessee Titans, winning 41-7. However, the entire season saw them go through many injuries, including the one to Allen’s throwing arm and Damar Hamlin’s on-field cardiac arrest. The late-season loss of Von Miller cannot be understated either. Eventually, the team ran out of steam against the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs.
Speaking about talking with Josh after the defeat, Ricciardo said in the interview, “I feel like I can understand an athlete because no matter what the sport is, you go through the highs, the lows. There is definitely a lot of relation but obviously, each individual is different. So, you want to try and lend support because you can relate, but you also want to be respectful of their space. But I did reach out to Josh, and he responded.”
