Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, drama has refused to end. His policies have been nothing but divisive with each time, some community or the other flogging him. He recently tried to monetize the use of verified accounts and that backfired almost instantly. Last year, he also suspended the accounts of certain journalists, and that did not go down well either. As the very existence of the platform came under threat, none of it made it into the renowned magazines. That was all the while when the likes of Max Verstappen and Tom Brady hogged the cover space.

After some of Musk’s polarizing moves, a trend by the hashtag #RIPTwitter started trending on the platform. That was due to the fact that many employees from the organization tendered their resignation. There were many who were fired as well. All that led to the Twitteratis believing that the social media platform’s days were numbered. Taking the hint, F1 teams AlphaTauri and Mercedes went in flow with the trend as well.

Posting a picture of a magazine rack in a store with Verstappen on GQ’s cover and Brady on Golf Magazine’s, Shrier, in November 2022, wrote on Twitter, @elonmusk’s revolution at Twitter is one of the biggest stories in the country right now. And here are our nation’s magazines…Trying their best to ignore it.”

Many in the comments mocked her for the fact that most of those magazines were monthly prints. And the reason why Musk’s Twitter story did not make it to the editions was due to the fact that it was a recent development.

When former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone praised Elon Musk

Bernie Ecclestone is not a man who is easily pleased. Before the Twitter fiasco, Elon Musk was a man who, more or less, was lauded for his gutsy projects like Space X and the Electronic Vehicle revolution through his automaker company Tesla. That left even Ecclestone impressed, who heaped praise on him.

Speaking with Autocar UK in 2020, the former F1 boss said, “I think he’s fantastic. He has done an incredible job. He’s a real ballsy guy. There were times when people thought Tesla was going to disappear in the morning. He saved it. He’s prepared to do what it takes.”

“I’m not a guy who believes in democracy. I believe in dictatorship. He’s a dictator, and that’s why things work. So much has been achieved by dictators, not because of a democracy.”
