Over the past few years, an evolution has been taking place in F1. And with the purchase of the series by Liberty Media, the sport has found its home in the USA. Continuing to build it there, the sport will return to Las Vegas this year, making it one of the biggest sporting events across the world. The sheer magnitude of the race is now believed to be greater than that of the Super Bowl, America’s personal annual favorite fest of madness!

The Las Vegas GP, which is said to be F1’s $240 million bet, if done well, will inject lots of promise and opportunity for the sport in the country. But how will it be better than the Super Bowl? It will be better in almost every aspect, given the money injected into the local economy, audience turnout, and future prospects.

This year alone, according to F1 analyst Vincenzo Landino, it will bring in $1.3 billion in the local economy of Las Vegas, clearly a few hundred million more than what the Super Bowl does. Moreover, the frequency itself would make it a lucrative deal for all the parties involved.

Explaining his viewpoint of the F1’s biggest race weekend of this season, Vincenzo, on a news show, said, “If those numbers hold true, you’re looking at having a Super Bowl every year. So if you think having the Super Bowl in your city is cool and helps make a lot of money for businesses, imagine what having the Super Bowl there every year will do for your city and your small businesses.”

The city will also host the Super Bowl in February, merely months after the F1 grand showdown. Still, the Las Vegas GP is the evaluators’ favorite to become the annual Super Bowl for the city and businesses.

Why Las Vegas is most suited for F1 in America?

The Las Vegas Grand Prix would become the third American race on the F1 calendar, following Miami and Austin. But it would be the biggest of all without a doubt, following the unbelievable hype that is being built around it, especially after a showcase under the stars last year. So, why only Vegas and not any other city?

Vincenzo explained this by making comparisons and justifying why fans across the world would love to visit the special weekend. He said, “You have gambling, and Macau is known for its gambling in the world. You have shopping. Well, Dubai is known for shopping. Partying. Ibiza. People go to Ibiza for partying. Amsterdam gives you the kind of anything-goes vibe. But those are all separate cities all over the world to get that. Well, Vegas, you have all that in one spot.”
