Sunday’s Super Bowl win by the star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his team Kansas City Chiefs gave the fans a lot to cheer about in 2023. As the Chiefs won the game against Philadelphia Eagles by 38-35, the world saw the game live, with all the enthusiasm. Among them, many were F1 fans as well as popular drivers, such as Daniel Ricciardo. Since F1 recently gained massive popularity in the United States, and drivers take an active interest in the sport, Red Bull Racing took the chance to indulge themselves in the Super Bowl fever with a throwback post.
The Austrian team posted a vintage clip of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo in an NFL outfit with, “Cos it’s #SuperBowl Sunday…” as its caption. However, Red Bull and Verstappen received backlash for the Dutchman’s posture as it looked way out of his control. Nevertheless, Nolan Sykes from Donut Media praised the two-time world champion for his efforts.

Nolan said during the Donut Racing Show, “I gotta give Max his credit where it’s due. He’s trying his best. He’s in full football guard, which on its own is kind of uncomfortable if you’re not used to it. And then trying to throw a football, in football pads and helmets, but it’s actually pretty difficult.”
“So, I don’t blame him for his bad form, it’s not a sport he grew up with. Also, throwing a football even if you like football is not that easy. So I don’t wanna make fun of him, so it’s a funny little stance that he’s in,” further stated the Donut Media personnel.
Red Bull Racing posted a series of photos on their official Twitter handle on the occasion of the Super Bowl. The F1 team last Sunday tried to get on the wave of the NFL, lure and make fans enjoy the NFL version of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.
Fans show concern over Sergio Perez amid Red Bull post
After Red Bull posted the photos of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo, a part of fans were in doubt if the British team has already replaced Sergio Perez. They were in confusion if Ricciardo was to start the season alongside the Dutch lion, who has a reputation for being modest these days.

Since the fans were not sure, they slammed the comments section with Checo’s name. However, the entire post was a throwback. Elizabeth Blackstock from the podcast shared on this, “I love it. This is a throwback that Red Bull posted from 2017. So it’s Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo. I believe coincides with the United States Grand Prix in Austin. Both of them throwing football, but I’m just picking the first photo. It’s Max, absolutely beefing the task.”
Alanis King from the same podcast then went on, ”This is a throwback to 2017, but all of the comments were like Checo, Checo, Checo. I think everyone was having like a miniature feat because everybody was like, oh my goodness, are they replacing Checo already, like it’s happening?”

Admittedly, this was from the days when Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen were racing together in Red Bull. While Ricciardo had 3 with him, Verstappen raced with 33 as his number, which changed to 1 last year. So, the fans can relax as Sergio Perez still has his seat in Red Bull.
