In NBA, Ricciardo supports the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s a case of the same city but a different sport in MLB. However, the Australian has chosen an “out of the box” approach when it comes to the NFL.

Ricciardo’s loyalties lie with the Buffalo Bills, which might seem like an odd choice for most. Odd, especially after the Australian rubbed his shoulders with the universally liked then New England Patriots GOAT Tom Brady.

Ricciardo met Brady at a promotional event for the 2018 Moncao GP and caught a throw from the seven-time Super Bowl winner. Some would argue the catch brought Ricciardo additional luck, as he won the race as well. However, Ricciardo still had an excuse not to support the Patriots and go for their rivals, the Bills.

He explained, “Obviously, I met Brady, and that was amazing and awesome. But it would have felt like a bandwagon. [But] everyone was Brady and Patriots, so I thought I’d do something a little different.”

“I forced myself not to go for a California team. I was like, let’s change it up a little, I thought I’m going to go for something a little out of the box,” he added.
