F1 hosted the first-ever Miami GP at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida in 2022, where Max Verstappen came out as the winner. The grand show last year was a hit as well as a miss. However, the organizers want to avoid any drawbacks this year and as a result; they don’t want to leave any stone unturned at the venue of Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins.
As per The Racer, the organizers of the Miami GP are all investing further to repave the circuit of Florida in order to improve the racing spectacle and spice up the racing fraternity for an upgraded F1 experience for the 2023 Miami Grand Prix.

However, there will not be any layout changes in the overall setting of the track, the repaving will be done mainly to increase the potential overtakes and provide more racing opportunities. All in all, the race in 2023 is expected to be more fierce and feisty if all the changes are made accordingly.
On top of these aforementioned changes, South Florida Motorsports and the race organizers have also invested to build a permanent paddock club above the pit garages. In other words, the venue of the Dolphins will undergo a major overhaul in the next few months.
What did the organizers say about the changes in Miami GP?
Miami Grand Prix organizer managing partner Tom Garfinkel opened up about the changes they look forward to making in the next couple of months. Garfinkel also mentioned the last year’s race in a report published by The Racer. Tom Garfinkel told to racer.com, “We could have just come back with the racetrack that we had last year.”

“The goal we set out was to have great racing, a lot of overtaking, side-by-side racing, and the track we had last year, I don’t remember the exact number of overtakes, but there were parts of the racetrack where there was one line where there should have been the possibility to overtake, and so we weren’t happy with that.”
“We’re going to go through with the investment and expense to go ahead and repave it in an effort to get it where it races better. It raced well enough according to the teams and drivers, but we want it to be as good as it can possibly be, so that’s why we’re going to repave it,” concluded Garfinkel.
