As if the world of Formula 1 needed more stars and thrills! Cue the entrance of sports megastars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and boxing bigwig Anthony Joshua. Injecting a cool $210 million into Alpine, these giants of the sports world are literally “accelerating” change! First off, a little birdie (and by that, we mean fans, cameras, and about a gazillion smartphones) spotted a rather fascinating scene pre-US Grand Prix. Picture this: heavyweight boxing champ Anthony Joshua, diligently assisting Alpine’s Pierre Gasly with… a tennis ball drill?

That’s right! The old-school reflex-tuning trick got a championship spin, and we’re here for it. Apparently, nailing the start of a race in a beast of a machine that an F1 car is, isn’t too different from dodging a flurry of punches. And the warmth didn’t end there. Joshua, proving he’s more than just an investor with deep pockets, sent words of encouragement to Gasly over the team radio: “I’m just wishing you well. God bless you, we’re all behind you.” If this isn’t #FriendshipGoals, what is?

But let’s shift gears a bit (pun absolutely intended). The latest pit-lane whisper is that Alpine, riding high on its celebrity investor wave, has made a strategic move to bolster its engine prowess. Step in Eric Meignan, former Ferrari genius and now Alpine’s new Technical Director for their power unit division. With stints at Mercedes and Ferrari, Eric is set to rev up Alpine’s engine game, especially eyeing those 2026 regulations.

While Anthony Joshua and Gasly are busy forging a bromance, Meignan’s entry is the clear signal Alpine is also keeping its eyes firmly on the prize. And with competitors like McLaren flexing their muscles mid-season, Alpine has got its work cut out.

There’s a French saying, “Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose” (the more things change, the more they stay the same). But with a fresh infusion of funds, celebrity charm, and a Ferrari mastermind now in their ranks, one can’t help but feel that for Alpine, change is definitely in the air. And as we all know, in F1, anything’s possible!

And guess who’s strapping up and zooming into Alpine’s Academy Programme? It’s none other than Formula 2’s dashing rookie, Kush Maini! Gotta learn a thing or two about strategy from Alpine!

Alpine’s new rising star: Formula 2 Sensation Kush Maini!

Fresh from a fantastic stint with Campos Racing, Maini boasts an impressive F2 season. Not to forget that glorious podium finish in Australia, he’s definitely one to watch out for. Oh, and did we mention his stellar second-place qualifying run at Silverstone? Talk about racing creds!

Now, joining the Alpine family means Maini gets the VIP treatment. A top-tier Academy team to guide him, access to Alpine’s swanky F1 base in Enstone, and the chance to rub shoulders with F2 pals like Jack Doohan and Victor Martins. And if he ever needs some inspiration, he just needs to look at Alpine Academy alumni who’ve made it big in F1, like Zhou Guanyu and Oscar Piastri.

An elated Maini shared, “I am super excited to be joining the Alpine Academy. It’s a dream come true to be associated with a team like BWT Alpine F1 Team, where I can learn and grow to hopefully one day be ready to take the step into Formula 1. A massive thank you to Alpine for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”
