And in Miami, it was Lando Norris during Saturday’s Sprint race. The thing is, Swift could’ve been in Miami, watching her lyricism come to life. That’s what reports pointed to all week – she and Travis Kelce would be on an F1 double date with Brittany and Patrick Mahomes. But owing to Kelce’s Saturday sighting elsewhere – specifically in Louisville – the double date in the magical heart of modern F1 may be in danger.

The Floridian street circuit, with the Miami Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium nestled in between, brings Hollywood’s A-listers together like no other race on the calendar. As per Us Weekly, Kansas City Chiefs teammates and F1 investors Mahomes and Kelce were to attend the Miami International Autodrome with their respective partners, Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift. And no guesses for which team’s garage they would’ve been in.

The Chiefs quarterback and tight end are part of a consortium that invested $214 million in Alpine F1 in 2023. The investment, which should’ve doubled their worth, only seems to be draining money out. Alpine is in the worst shape of its life, with neither of its drivers being able to pull them out of trouble. Well, there isn’t much Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly can really do to outperform the A524 than they already are. Nonetheless, the NFL duo made lavish plans for the Miami GP to revel in their personal and Super Bowl successes, if not F1.

Brittany Mahomes made it two in a row by attending her second Miami GP weekend with her loving husband. And Taylor Swift – rumored to be on the guest list for the MET Gala this coming Monday – was reportedly going to ditch those New York plans to dive deeper into her boyfriend’s F1 interest. However, as she prepares for the European leg of her Eras Tour that’ll resume on May 9 in Paris, it looks like Kelce let her do her thing and headed to the 150th Kentucky Derby instead.

The one-and-a-quarter-mile race is the first leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown. What the Monaco GP is to F1, the Kentucky Derby is to horse racing. And this year’s trip to Louisville saw the closest 3-horse photo finish since 1947! Travis Kelce may have missed Max Verstappen winning yet another Sprint race and securing yet another pole position, but instead, he witnessed history being made elsewhere.

What he lost in Swift’s pop star presence, he made up for by partying with The Chainsmokers in Louisville on Friday in the Pre-Kentucky Derby event. Patrick Mahomes is already living it up in Miami. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback was seen partying his heart out with his wife, Brittany, on Friday night. The celebrity couple, along with their friends, were toasting champagne and celebrating at the Sexy Fish, a high-end restaurant.

Apparently, the duo couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. “They were seen canoodling at the table, kissing and hugging,” a source told Page Six. “It was full-on party mode for the group!” the source added. After partying late into the night in Florida’s Magic City, Mahomes was on time for his Alpine F1 commitments on Saturday.

He also marked his presence in Alpine’s hospitality home along with Brittany. Though the French team is consistently underperforming, their F1 Academy counterpart has tasted mega success. Shortly after Mahomes arrived at the circuit, Alpine’s Abbi Pulling won the first of two F1 Academy races this weekend.

In summary, the status of the two power couples’ double date is up for speculation. Nothing should go wrong as long as they are in the magic city. Except for their F1 team’s performance, maybe.
