The faster you go around the racetrack, the closer you are to being fragile and staring death in the face. 29 years since the tragic demise of Ayrton Senna, F1 fans pay their tribute to the Greatest F1 driver of all time.

Ayrton Senna said, “The Harder I Push, the more I find within myself.” Always on the edge of his car’s performance, Ayrton Senna passed away, extracting the most out of his Williams FW14. At the San Marino GP in 1994, Senna went off the track at Tamburello and hit the concrete barrier, causing his front right to detach and enter the cockpit, hitting his helmet. Nobody could’ve imagined that the King of Monaco, who loved getting up close to the barriers, would, unfortunately, pass away because of crashing into a barrier.

The crashes at the 1994 San Marino GP were the first fatal ones in 12 short-lived years. The legend might’ve left us but left his legacy behind for us to cherish and remember him by. Ayrton’s former team, McLaren, who even released a road car named Senna paying tribute to the legend, posted a Tweet on the anniversary of his tragic passing away. The Tweet read “Remembering Ayrton Senna. ❤️” “On the anniversary of his tragic passing, we reflect on him, everything he achieved, and the legacy he left behind.”

Many greats of the motor-racing world have idolized Senna, including the world champions Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. Fernando Alonso explained how he grew up watching Senna and suggests that he would not have made it to F1 had it not been for the inspiration that the Brazilian gave him. Lewis Hamilton ran a Senna tribute helmet multiple times in his career, remembering the legend.

Fans swarmed the social media to pay their tribute to the never forgotten Ayrton Senna who gave his life but, as a result, saved the lives of many more to come after him. They made many safety changes after his demise and F1 would not see another demise until 2014 when Jules Bianchi passed away at Suzuka in pouring rain.

Many commented on how Senna will forever be a hero and will continue to inspire many generations. Others suggested that he will never be forgotten and will always be a legend of the sport.
