Red Bull is bulldozing its way to the very top of Formula 1 right now. If you thought the Sebastian Vettel era was the best they could conjure, then Max Verstappen must be making you cut a very sorry figure. The Bulls have embarked on a blistering run of form in 2023, and with 12 races remaining on the calendar this year, it might as well be an MK-7 whitewash.

It isn’t a secret that the mastermind behind the RB19 is the one and only Adrian Newey. But while ‘the man who can see air’ is busy carving the exquisite curves and aerodynamic goodies on the Red Bull Racing cars, his driver, Verstappen is extracting the very maximum out of it and making the others on the grid look mighty silly.

With Verstappen strapped into the RB19 this year, the Milton-Keynes-based outfit witnessed their 100th win at the Canadian GP. But that’s not it. According to the team’s taskmaster, Helmut Marko, this is only the beginning as the team and the Dutch lion set their sights on higher glory.

Marko was quoted by Speedweek.com as saying, “Max never ceases to amaze us. We have now risen in the ranks of the five best teams in history. It’s an exciting story, the last 20 years have flown by. Now in 2026 we will have our own engine, a new chapter. We want to keep the high level.” [translated via Google Translate]

There seems to be an air of dominant arrogance within the ranks, but Marko thinks the team can afford it due to Verstappen’s presence.

Though Red Bull started the season miles ahead of anyone else on the grid, the teams are slowly but surely catching up. And while the British Grand Prix was a testament to it as McLaren inched as close as they ever were to the Bulls, Marko wasn’t fazed by the threat of any opposition.

When quizzed whether he was worried about the pack catching up to them, he simply replied, “If the cars are equally fast, then there is still the max factor. Nobody can hold a candle to him at the moment.”
