Netflix’s Drive to Survive has brought in a whole new dimension to Formula 1. Despite facing the wrath of the F1 champion Max Verstappen last season, the show still has much to offer. Former Red Bull star David Coulthard is one such man who believes the same theory.
Drive to Survive brings in a lot more than the usual race weekends for the fans to watch. The show also focuses on the drivers who are rather “boring” as per Coulthard and make them interesting. His comments have come at the right time after Verstappen decided to stay on the show for season 5!
As per Balls.ie, the British veteran driver shared, “It [Drive to Survive] makes them all seem more interesting than they are. Most of the drivers are bloody boring, to be honest! Netflix makes them seem quite interesting!”

Max Verstappen made a DTS U-turn
The world might be loving Netflix’s F1 series, but Max Verstappen has decided to have none of it. The Dutchman, who is known for his straightforward behavior, has condemned the way everything is portrayed in the show. Saying this, the former Toro Rosso driver decided to stay away from the show in 2021. This, however, didn’t go down well with the fans, as they called Max Verstappen the “ultimate hypocrite” for backtracking on bullsh*t claims.

In a report published by GP Fans, Verstappen told Associated Press, “They faked a few rivalries which they don’t really exist. So I decided to not be a part of it and did not give any more interviews after that because then there is nothing you can show.”
Keeping the champion of the sport out hurt the series, as Netflix decided to hold discussions with the Dutchman and bring him back to the show. After a series of discussions between Red Bull and Netflix, the reigning champion has decided to come back to the show in the fifth installment.
