Recently, the current World Champion has voiced his opinion again, when asked about whether he will be a part of it in the future. He said, “No, I won’t change my mind. That was already ruined after season one. I think I’m quite a down-to-earth guy. I just want it to be facts, don’t hype it up.”

The Dutchman also admitted that the dramatic nature of the series is what the fans want. He added, “I understand it needs to be like that for Netflix. People like that. That’s with every series on there as well, or documentary, or whatever you call it. It’s just not my thing.”

Despite his strong view for the series, Verstappen revealed he will watch the documentary to see how they force rivalries between the teams and the drivers.

Amid all this, there is some good news for Verstappen fans after all. French channel, Canal+ has announced that the 24-year-old will have his own documentary released soon. The channel has revealed that the plot will revolve around Verstappen’s challenging 2021 season as well as his journey that has brought him to the pinnacle of motorsport.

Toto Wolff on Drive to Survive

Toto Wolff also agrees with Verstappen on the documentary series. He was one of the very few people to watch the show before the 11th of March. Subsequently, he gave his opinion against the series. He said, “I never wanted to have the camera in my face. We gradually grew into this. Suddenly you realise that it has become so big everywhere in the world with new audiences, younger audiences.”
