Clarifying the situation, Dr. Helmut Marko according to Motorsport-Total.com, reaffirmed, “We have a contract with Perez until the end of 2024. He’s second in the World Championship. Where should there be a need for action?”  [translated via Google] Despite rumors suggesting a potential shake-up in RBR’s driver lineup, Marko’s recent statements affirm Perez’s position within the team.

Marko praises Verstappen’s competitiveness, stating, “He always wants the maximum possible, and that’s what makes him so competitive.”

With Sergio Pérez securing P3. Marko expresses his satisfaction, noting, “Third place is absolutely fine, and on Sunday he will now start from the front row.” While Verstappen’s ability to win from P14 last year gives the team confidence, Marko also acknowledges Pérez’s strengths, stating, “He has an incredible overview in situations like that. He won’t take any risks, but we hope he will get to the front relatively quickly.”
