Daniel Ricciardo is known for his personality off & on track. The Australian is always joking and creating banter wherever he goes. So at the recent Belgian GP- his 200th Grand Prix in F1, he bragged about his time in F1.

As the race had been delayed again, McLaren told their driver to follow the procedure if the race restarted. Ricciardo had done it several times and reminded the Woking-based outfit that he has been on the grid for quite a while.

Daniel Ricciardo reminds McLaren about his time in F1

The Belgian GP had several delays due to the rain. So the Papaya team advised the Australian driver to follow the steps so that they can be prepared for the restart. The 32-year-old reminded his team, that he had done it several times, and this race was a big deal.

He said on the team radio, “Yeah yeah I turned it off once the engine was off. If you want me to toggle it on and off I can. If you see something wrong…  Yep yeah gotcha, I don’t know if you know this about me, but it is my 200th Grand Prix.”

“Done it a few times. Yeah, it is kinda a big deal, this neck of the woods,” Ricciardo concluded.

How did Ricciardo’s race pan out?

The Australian driver hit the ground running after the summer break at Spa. He had achieved his best qualifying position by coming fourth on the timesheet and was ready to bring a good result for McLaren.

However, due to the conditions in Belgium, the race only had two laps behind the safety car and was later called off. Ricciardo was disappointed, but nevertheless, he had just achieved his best finish for the team by coming fourth.

The 32-year-old will be looking forward to the Dutch Grand Prix in a week’s time, and aim to get an even better result for the Woking-based outfit.
