Santi Aldama gets fans excited by posing with Fernando Alonso merch
Memphis Grizzlies recently posted a video of their star athlete Santi Aldama walking with a swagger, wearing an ‘El Plan’ T-shirt with Fernando Alonso’s iconic phoenix celebration. The post got a response from Fernando himself as he posted a simple ‘El Plan’ as a Quote Retweet.
For the uninitiated, ‘El Plan’ is a term coined by Alonso fans who called his every move and decision as part of the plan to get back on top to win his 3rd world championship. Spanish musician Melendi collaborated with Fernando later for a song with the same name.
The Spanish player’s video with the El Plan shirt got fans excited as well. It surprised many of them to know their favorite F1 driver had a fan from the NBA as well.
Have a look at some reactions to the post as it excited fans with the crossover.

As Fernando admitted he did not know what ‘El Plan’ meant, Soy Motor quoted Melendi while speaking with Alonso as saying, “The Plan in the end implies hope. I think that people are hungry for hope after going through bad times and I think it reminds you of Fernando, it reminds you of your moments.”
