Two-time world champion Max Verstappen is the most successful Dutch racer in F1’s history. That is a massive achievement for a 25-year-old. The two world championships also bring him immeasurable fame. They make Verstappen quite a popular figure and not just among the F1 fans. However, does it make him more prominent than the NBA legend LeBron James?
LeBron is arguably one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Apart from life on the court, the American is an entrepreneur off-court. King James bought a 2% stake in the Premier League side, Liverpool, back in 2011.

Now you’d assume playing for a team partly owned by LeBron James would make your loyalties lie with the NBA star. Wrong! Liverpool FC’s Trent Alexander-Arnold proved that.
In his interview with GQ, when asked who is the most famous person in his contacts was, the 24-year-old had an interesting answer. “Max Verstappen maybe?”
He said and continued, “Massive into Formula 1. I’m a huge fan. I got to meet him as well a few weeks ago. So that was a special moment for me as well.”
Not LA Lakers‘ star LeBron James, but it’s Max Verstappen who Arnold feels is the most famous person in his contact list. The English defender is a massive fan of the sport as well, which could’ve made him biased. Or could it be the case that he didn’t have LeBron James’s number on his phone?
Despite that, Arnold should be careful before forgetting about the man who is a part owner of the club. Rather, part owner of the parent company, a recent shift made by LeBron James.

The NBA star diversified his portfolio by investing $6.5 million in Liverpool back in 2011. With the stakes’ appreciation, it’s already worth a massive $40 million. Talk about a tidy investment.
However, in March 2022, LeBron James took one step further and exchanged his stake in Liverpool for part ownership in FSG. FSG owns the Red Sox, Fenway Park stadium, Liverpool, and Pittsburgh Penguins, the NHL franchise. They also own half of Roush Fenway Racing and 80% of the New England Sports Network.
