In a career spreading 19 seasons, Shaquille O’Neal became one of the greatest NBA players of all time. The multiple championship and MVP award winner is a legend in all regards. However, we are not here to discuss Shaq’s illustrious and glorious NBA career. We are here to discuss a career path that Shaq embarked on after the NBA, which no one could’ve imagined.

The American, in the most bizarre twist, became a DJ under the alias of DJ Diesel. Shaq’s alter-ego also has amassed a fanbase ever since his debut at TomorrowWorld in 2015. So much so that the ex-NBA player will be at the Circuit of The Americas playing in front of the crowd right after the US Grand Prix main event.

Shaq, aka DJ Diesel, is added to the long list of artists performing during the weekend. However, Shaq will headline the event and perform on the podium with a curated set immediately after the race.

As part of the F1 tradition, the larger-than-life man will perform on a lofted stage above the podium. The fans will be invited to come on the track to witness DJ Diesel perform up close. Reportedly, there will be as many as 20 musical acts during the course of the US Grand Prix weekend.

Apart from the Hall of Famer, there are other notable musicians also on the list of headliners for the weekend at COTA. The list includes Grammy-winning artists like American rock band Green Day and Ed Sheeran.

Apart from the lineup, the F1 fandom can get excited to see similar antics as the 2021 US Grand Prix.

We’re not sure what the 7-footer is planning for COTA ahead of the 2022 edition. However, Shaq stole the show at the 2021 US Grand Prix.

Shaq arrived in a humongous and epic longhorn car before getting on the podium with the winner’s trophy. However, it was the photos from the podium that became iconic.

Shaq towering over race winner Max Verstappen and runner-up Lewis Hamilton standing on the podium was absolutely astonishing. To make things worse, someone edited the photos to make Shaq look absolutely humongous.

Fans will be hoping to see something similar at the COTA in 2022 as well with Shaq making the trip to the track and to the podium.
