The US Grand Prix always promises to be a grand and extravagant affair. Shaquille O’Neal has on occasion added the extra limelight to the post-race ceremonies in Formula 1. However, at the 2021 US Grand Prix, he rocked up in something that made even the F1 cars blush.

A Cadillac Eldorado is a pretty sight, isn’t it? Now imagine a Cadillac Eldorado that’s been modified enough and, in a way, that it’s been dubbed as the ‘Badillac’. That’s exactly what Shaq was sitting in as he graced the 2021 US Grand Prix post-race ceremony.

But what is a ‘Badillac’ exactly? “The Badillac is exactly what its name sounds like, a bad Cadillac where, its creators say, “bad” stands for “fun.”

The Cadillac became a viral sensation as soon as it appeared on F1. “Dubbed the Shaq-mobile by Formula One during the U.S. Grand Prix, The Badillac instantly became a viral star, and not only because Shaq sat in it for a few minutes. It was clear from the start that it was a modified Cadillac Eldorado and that someone had taken the Texas theme and ran it out of the park.”

If you are someone reading this in Austin, you might be in luck as you can actually rent this head-turning ride for anywhere from $900 for three hours to $14,000 for a five-day festival.

But the Shaq-Mobile wasn’t a one-off gimmick. As it happened, the Shaq-Mobile made its appearance once again at the 2022 United States Grand Prix held at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.

Shaquille O’Neal is a Formula 1 fan. However, due to his stature, it is not easy for the man to fit into any odd car. That is why, probably, the Cadillac was the only vehicle he deemed fit to make an entry with at the US Grand Prix.
