Despite their love for Formula 1, most drivers on the grid enjoy a second sport as well. Currently, on the grid, the majority prefers golf or, in the case of the younger generation, sim racing. However, that does not mean the drivers don’t fantasize about other sports. A recent interview with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez revealed one such fantasy.
The Red Bull men ahead of the US Grand Prix took part in a simple game of “This or That”. The game had various questions to test or reveal their preferences. And there is only one sport Verstappen fantasizes about.

When asked to pick between NBA or NFL, Verstappen quickly disqualified himself and his teammate, Sergio Perez for one sport. “Well, I’m too short for NBA,” claimed Verstappen for NBA. “You are also too short for NBA,” said the Red Bull man to his teammate.
Ipso facto, Verstappen’s preference became NFL. However, the Dutchman had an interesting reason to support his choice. “I would really like to bulk up for NFL, you know be like one of the (NFL athletes).. and just like ram into them,” hilariously revealed Verstappen aka ‘Mad Max’.
Sadly for Verstappen, he can’t do both! Being an F1 driver and bulking up for NFL is not very feasible. Why? Because when it comes to Formula 1 racing, weight is a decisive factor.

Weight is as critical a factor as it gets in the world of Formula 1. The relation between speed and weight is self-explanatory. The heavier the car, the slower it will go.
And as you might already know, the drivers also contribute to the car’s weight and speed. So if Max Verstappen bulks up, wanting to ram into people, he will have to shrink in to get into the congested cockpit of his car. Moreover, he might not be the fastest driver on the track. So, despite his racing prowess, his weight will hold him back.
