When you visit the land of Hollywood, you expect nothing less than a grand time. Last week’s US Grand Prix was nothing but the same. The paddock was graced by many popular celebrities, most notably Brad Pitt, Shaquille O’Neal, and Serena Williams. Moreover, Apple CEO Tim Cook waved the chequered flag as Max Verstappen beat Lewis Hamilton and the rest of the grid to win the race.

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton will be gutted after coming ever so close to securing their first win of the season. They led much of the second half of the race after a slow pit stop cost Max Verstappen precious time. However, the Dutch Lion showed why he was the world champion and fought back to clinch a record-breaking 13th win of the season.

Just like last year, Shaquille O’Neal made another extravagant entry to present the winner’s trophy. However, before the race, he desired for Lewis Hamilton to win the race. When a reporter asked Shaquille before the race, “How big a fan of Formula 1 are you?” DJ Diesel replied with one word, “Lewis Hamilton”.

But it looks like Shaq only promised the reported one question. When the reporter asked him a second question, “These are crazy scenes right Mr. O’Neal?”, he jokingly strangled the reporter after saying, “I said one question. What are you doing?”

After having a good laugh with the reporter, he did answer his question. He said, “Yes, it is. Lewis Hamilton, I hope he wins today.”

Lewis Hamilton hopeful of a win in Mexico after an impressive showing at the US GP

After securing an impressive second-place finish in Austin, Lewis Hamilton has his eyes set on the Mexican GP. The Silver Arrows driver will hope for some stroke of luck along the way as he searches for his first win of the season. However, Red Bull who have won 8 races in a row will be a stern competitor, especially the race being in Sergio Perez’s home ground.

Hamilton said, “There is hope there, there is a huge amount of focus. We know where the car is wrong, is not great. We know where we need to put it to make it better. So that’s what the kind of focus [is].”

He further said, “Of course they deserve success, but this year we didn’t do the job that the others had done. But it would be such a blessing if we do get a win. I think the emotions that would come out would be unmeasurable.”

Hamilton also acknowledged the fact that a win in Mexico would take a lot of pressure off the team and their bid to make a competitive car next year.
