The Miami Heat star, Jimmy Butler, who may take some time to be back on the court due to injury, has registered his presence back in Formula 1 with the race in Miami. The key word here is ‘back’ as the star had a rather scary rendezvous with the F1 world four years ago when McLaren driver Lando Norris took him out for a hot lap and left him screaming. “You are going too fast!!” is a particular cry we remember from the basketball star. And now he is back for a non-driving meet-up with the rival clan.

Back when Pirelli Hot Laps was still a regular thing, Formula 1 stars such as Lewis Hamilton took the likes of Usain Bolt and Millie Bobby Brown around the Formula 1 circuit and all we remember is screams. A similar incident occurred when Jimmy Butler was taken for a ‘fun’ ride by McLaren driver Lando Norris. And as stated above, all we remember is screaming, shouting, and yelling. And now Butler has registered a comeback with McLaren rivals Alpine.

Alpine driver Esteban Ocon has already had his share of the celebrity meetup on the first day. It began when he met Vin Diesel. And that was not all, as the Frenchman had his dinner with none other than Jimmy Butler. Posting a happy picture with the caption, “mega dinner with this legend” with a basketball and fire emoticon, a very pleased Esteban Ocon is seen pointing at Butler in it.

Coming home to race is probably a feeling that is unparalleled. For the first time since the Drive to Survive revolution, an American has found himself a spot on the F1 grid, and being from South Florida, he will be racing close to home. But like Norris and Esteban, he is also a Jimmy fan.

As reported by Si.com which quoted Logan’s GQ interview, he had said, “Growing up as a kid in South Florida, I was in the prime of D-Wade, LeBron, Chris Bosh, in Miami, winning championship–I remember going to the games as a kid, and it?s always sat close to my heart.?

And turning his attention to the current star he said, “We got Jimmy Butler now, and he?s crushing it, so it?s good to see.”
